What is UGC? |
|
The Ultrasound Guidelines Council (UGC) is overseen by the U.S. Beef Breeds Council and was put in place to be the entity that administers the certification of both field and laboratory technicians to collect and interpret carcass ultrasound images (marbling, rib fat, ribeye area, and rump fat) in beef cattle. UGC also oversees the certification of the various systems that are used to collect and interpret these images. The purpose of UGC is to help insure that no matter what field technician or lab you use for collection and interpretation of your images, the highest quality, most accurate data is supplied to the breed associations on your behalf. For more information on how to become certified as a technician or how to find a certified technician in your area, please contact the UGC office or click on the “Technicians” tab to the left of this page. |
