UGC Board Adopts Revised IQ Scoring System
The UGC Board of Directors has replaced the 7-pt IQ scoring system with a simple 3 category system. The new system simply categorizes images as either "acceptable", "marginal", or "rejected". The definitions of each category remain the same as before. Because historically few images were ever scored as "1" or "7", the new system removes the three types of marginal images. Further, the UGC Board agreed to only summarize IQ scores for technicians once per year in July rather than twice per year. The number of images collected in the spring greatly exceeds those collected in the fall. Hence, the January IQ reports included only a few animal for most technicians. IQ reports should be mailed in time for technicians to know their average IQ scores before they apply for re-certification in absentia.
